Man time has been going so fast I ALMOST forgot to write this post! October/Elliots 5th month went by so fast I couldn’t believe it. I also can’t believe we’re already a week into November! Wow!
This month was a lot of firsts for Elliot. The first first was that we began solid food this month. We started with just cereal, which I had originally intended to skip. In the end, we ended up tossing it because that crap tastes like cardboard! And of course he hated it!
So after two cereal feedings, I got to work making all of his baby food for the month. The first food he ever had were carrots. He’s doing a great job now with solids. At first it was tough because he had to learn how to take a spoon and how to move the food from the front of his mouth to the back, but now he’s got the hang of it. He opens up as soon as he sees the spoon coming. So far he’s had carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, and apples. We’re also about to try butternut squash and pears.
We bought a Jumper this month and started playing in it. Elliot LOVES to bounce no matter what. He bounces in our laps, on the bed, and in the Jumper. Unfortunately, while he’s tall, he’s not heavy enough to push the seat down so he can touch the floor in the bouncer, we I always stack a few thick books under him so he can reach.
Elliot loves to cuddle his mom and dad. He loves to sit in our laps and lay on our chests and snuggle with us. Thats a change from the younger days because for the first two months he didn’t want to be touched when he was sleepy. Now he snuggles and sits with us all the time.
Ohhh teething. Everything he gets in his hands goes right to his mouth now, and he’s a drooling monster. He has started to attach to his different teethers, but his fingers (and mom and dad’s fingers) are by far his favorite.
This little boy is also becoming quite the daddy’s boy! I’m not going to lie- I’m a little jealous. There are days where he doesn’t want anything to do with me and only wants to snuggle his daddy.
Last but not least- This boy is SITTING UP! He’s not completely there yet, but he wants to sit up so badly. We practice with him all the time and he’s getting closer and closer every day. Even if he isn’t sitting up by himself, he wants to be propped up looking around.
Here’s a few pictures of his halloween outfits and of his first pumpkin!
And here is his 5 month photo!
